We would like to introduce the origin of one of most popular traditional Aulacese treats, the sticky rice cakes! They are certainly a must have during every homes’ New Year celebration. This custom date back to the time of the Kung Kings, the ancestors of Aulac. The old King Kung 6th wanted to test the virtue and skills of his 20 sons, to see who would be the best heir to his throne. So, he challenged these princes to create the most delicious and meaningful food dishes they could and offer them on the day of “Honoring the Late Kings.” All the princes looked high and low to find something unique and exotic to offer.
