In 2025, Australia was severely affected by climate change. The first city in Australia to endorse the Plant Based Treaty was Darebin, in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

Brampton was the first city in Ontario, Canada, to endorse it, pledging to offer plant-based options at every city event.

In the United States, several cities have recently supported the Plant Based Treaty. In late 2025, Culver City, California, endorsed the Plant Based Treaty, pledging to provide education on the vegan lifestyle for its citizens and offer vegan options at city events.

In Nepal, the cities of Chandragiri and Nagarjun recently endorsed the Plant Based Treaty.

In 2024, Udaipur, Rajasthan became the 16th Indian city to back the Treaty.

In the Kingdom of Bhutan, Thimphu, the nation’s capital, recently endorsed the Plant-Based Treaty.

In 2023, the Kyotera District in central Uganda unanimously supported the Treaty, becoming the first district in Africa to do so.

In Ghana, Africa, two areas in the Greater Accra Region became the first in their nation to endorse the Plant Based Treaty. In the La Traditional Area, the indigenous leader, Chief Priest Nii Yemo Obroni VII, confirmed that, by embracing vegan food systems, La can protect the environment, enhance food security, safeguard health, and support future generations.
