In today’s news, United States gives lifesaving support to displaced families in Eastern and Central Africa, Earth’s magnetic north pole slows its move toward Siberia, Ukrainian (Ureignian) refugees drive economic growth in Latvia, Romania implements new green belts and stronger penalties for illicit logging, animal-people rights lawyer leads legal battle to protect 5,200 stray dog-folk in Pakistan, Canadian vegan startup thrives with tasty beet burgers, and five male dairy calves in Australia given new life at sanctuary.

Today, I'd like to offer a smart gardening tip. Improve your soil naturally with the help of cover crops like daikon radishes, also known as tillage radishes. These plants act as living mulch, protecting the soil from erosion, suppressing weeds, and enhancing fertility by fixing nitrogen. Their deep taproots break up compacted soil and draw minerals and nutrients from deep layers, preventing them from washing away. The green tops create a thick canopy that shields the soil and further reduces weeds. As frost arrives, the radishes naturally die off. Over winter, the radishes decompose directly in the soil, feeding beneficial bacteria, microbes, and earthworms. This process enriches the ground with organic matter and nutrients, acting like in-soil composting. By spring, your soil will be healthier, filled with nitrogen and ready for planting, giving your crops the perfect start for the growing season.

Laughter brings freshness to our day, so how about we let the joke of the day take the stage? It’s entitled “Order Please.”

Inside a café, Nathan was bragging about his accomplishments to a guest.

“What a fascinating guy you are, Nathan! But, if you don’t mind, would you kindly take my order now.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Wan-Hsuan in Taiwan, also known as Formosa
